Social Secretary’s Report:

The Social Sec is currently waiting for his new arrival to come into the world at Derriford Hospital. Social points are:

·         3 Wise Monkeys Trophy Games Night with the TASIs for the March Meeting. They will meet us here and I hope we muster a strong turnout to defend our Title. Smally eats will be provided on the night. This year, we have agreed to support their Charity www.justgiving.com%2Fzoe-maycoxandrewcullum%2F%3Futm_source%3DFacebook%26utm_medium%3Dfundraisingpage%26utm_content%3Dzoe-maycoxandrewcullum%26utm_campaign%3Dpfp-share&h=gAQH8KB6p

·         Plymouth Aquarium has got back to the Social Sec with regard to holding our Ladies Night at their venue. At this point, it doesn’t look financially viable for the Association to hold it there.

Vice President:

An update for the constitution, GI Walker and Phipps have been working hard on this and it looks as if there will be a draft of the constitution on the streets at the April meeting. It will give everyone a chance to read it, before we vote on it at the AGM.

Would anyone like to receive a reminder text for the meetings? If so, let me know and give me your number.

Presidents Charity:

Give a Child a Chance help Plymouth children and adolescents with emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties.

Many of the children who come to the club are on the Autism Spectrum and so we can help by buying specialist sensory equipment to use at the club. Things like adapted toys for balance and gross motor skills, expanding the model railway they’re building, buying some remote control cars etc.

G I  Walker

I will start with the cannon. It was made by a master model maker but not a master business man and he went bust. All his stuff sat under a house and I got at it. All the good stuff was gone. A cannon with a broken wheel was left. If anyone can think they can fix it can have it.

Next for those who made donations to the crowd funding page I set up for the teaching in India I thank you, it went well. If you think it rains here, you ain’t seen nothing, I saw goats drowning in the street because they were not quick enough to get under a tree. The girls school we were at has gone from 1500 to 2,000. The school was designed for 450. Classes are being taught under trees, because they can’t fit inside. The IT equipment I put in last time surprisingly is still there and working. We are going back again next November. The one week holiday after was a rubbish. Never book a holiday in Sri Lanka at Christmas time. Being a country of 80% Buddhist you would think they wouldn’t celebrate Christmas but no they love Christmas with a passion. A full moon was on Christmas eve so they get a day of for that. So the whole of Sri Lanka had 5 days off on my 7 day holiday.

GI Bennett

In contrast my time in Dubai watching the Rugby 7’s was superb.

GI Lewis

I would like to thank GI‘s Holmes and Morgan of the Ocean and Bulwark for the outstanding amount of money they raised over the Remembrance period.

GI Tidball

I’m leaving my pub on the 1st of February and retiring.

The Meeting closed at 20.51

See you at the next Meeting.
