Social Secretaryís Report:

Thank you for the congrats for my first serial, but it was you guys who made the evening. Ladies Night, Iím looking at doing it around March / April time Easter-ish and avoiding the six nations. Does anyone have any influence at the National Aquarium.

GI Walker: Yes, my son still works there and my other son will be back at Stonehouse by then. I can ask and we may have a choice of two good venues.

Vice President:

Absent. As read by Prez. Resettlement exams in progress. Had no luck with TASiís about a games night.

Presidents Report:

Iíve just returned from Pompey after a very enjoyable two day State ceremonial Seminar. It was good to mingle with fellow Gunners from all over the country whoíre all keen to get together and make sure the Senior Services input into State Ceremonial is meticulously planned. Speaking to Pompey about our relevant Associations, there is a continuing drive from some in Pompey to allow Killicks into their Association, hopefully when/if it comes to the vote, the staunch traditionalists will come to realise that the Killick Gunner is a valued commodity into the longevity of their Association. After all it hasnít done us any harm and lets face it, the Killick Gunner of today is superiorly trained compared to that of 10 years ago.

Also on the Pompey front, what is the take up for a weekend at Weymouth with the RNGIA, whilst there we would lay a wreath on the grave of LS Jack Mantle VC?

WELCOME TO

 GI Pilkington, McCallum & Evans.

Birthdays in November:

GI Cook G (19th) happy birthday to you

Presidents Charity:

So far I have not identified a suitable charity this year. There are some childrenís centres for service families that could do with a bit of a face lift that Iíve initially looked at but honestly donít think the Association can supply enough able bodied manpower for a one day makeover type event which weíve done in the past. Our serials this year have put a significant dent in our funds, with that in mind Iíd like to suggest we forgo a nominated charity this year and money generated from our raffles goes back into the Association to get us firmly in the black? [This suggestion was highlighted a contravention of the existing Constitution. However, as the Constitution is currently under review, a clause will be added that a time limit be put on charity money raised which doesnít get utilised should be released back into the Associations funds.]

During the run up to our stag dinner I had quite a few questions posed to me via e-mails which could                                                              easily been answered had the persons asking taken the time to click on the social Serial Tab on the website. The website is there for one and all so please donít forget about it.

Photographs from the Gents night will be posted soon, keep an eye out for them.

AOB

G I Dobson: How do you go about getting tickets for the Festival of Remembrance?

GI Bennett/Beer Apply via British Legion Website. But it is heavily subscribed.

GI Boyle: Well done for the Gents evening. Only disappointment was the numbers. Not as many guests as I thought there would be. A few said they would come but didnít , follow up e-mails or texts to try to get the numbers up. If it wasnít for the guests we would have been stuck.

Another thing, I went to the Hoe on Remembrance Sunday and a Naval Guard walked past with a two badge Killick in charge and he was poor. I would like to have shoved his Pace stick up his arse and opened it. The Chief of the Parade just stood there and did nothing. Officer of the Guard was just as bad. Saying that the drill was ok, in time and everything. But those in chargeÖ Unless youíre going to do a good job, donít do it.

GI Roberts:  Cracking night for Gents evening. Hereís a thought, we had a good trip to Gib how about we do another one but to Malta?

GI Bennett: Something myself and Danny witnessed nothing to do with the Navy but there was a Royal Marine Sargent with his family. As the National Anthem started to play he decided to walk away. Some

ex Bootnecks stood behind us, they were not happy.

GI Walker: Just to let you know the Constitution working party has been formed and discussed our way forward. I would like the Chairman of the working party to approach the President of the Association and give him a monthly report with looking at having a draft report February meeting next year.

Thank You to everyone for your contributions.
