As well as the work from GI Prout, GI Hunt deserves recognition for coordinating and providing things at this end, Thank You Scouse.

This meeting in Gib is a first for our Association and one which I hope is the first of many. Itís evident to me that our association goes from strength to strength.

Itís a pleasure to have the ASWIs as guests here this evening. We meet up every now and then for our games night and hope the dits generated from this weekend promote your association as well as our own.

The £10 donated by GI Cooper was used for refreshments during this meeting and £50 has also been pledged for the Gib Sqdn Welfare Fund

Welcome To

AOB:

GI Walker: I hosted 17 WO, CPO & POs in this very room some years ago which put a significant dent in my Chiefs wage. Well done Prez for allocating £50 from the Association.

GI Bennett: Thank you to the Squadron

GI Loar: Itís a real pleasure to see you all and actually see my Association, the old faces and the new. Thank you to Gib Squadron for hosting us.

GI Roberts: ďBoys, this is one of the best nights, I love the Navy, even the Tas Apes! This is the best night Iíve had in yearsĒ (Script has been sanitised!)

TASI Baker: Thank you for tonight and inviting us here. Itís a meeting of both fun and serious subjects, thank you all.

GI Maddocks: Welcome to Gibraltar. Itís a pleasure to have you here. For reasons beyond my control, Iíll be back in Guz from Summer so Iíll see you then.

TASI Coupe: Thank you to the GIs for letting us TAS Apes come along. Lets do it again.

GI Clarke: After Danny, Phippsy & Cooky decided to drop out of this meeting, I was a little apprehensive about coming along being such a young pup. But after listening to Robbies dits outside the Flip Flop, I have had such an education about how the Navy ďused to beĒ and itís made me want to put my stamp on the Mob today and carry on that mantle and create some dits of my own. Also, Iíd like to add my sincere thanks to GIs Maddocks & Hunt for hosting us so well tonight. (round of applause).

The Prez reminded him that itís his generation who are the life-blood of the Associations longevity and without him & others like him, the Association will ultimately dwindle and fail. GI Bennett commented that the day Nobby was born, he was 100% older than him, now 30 years on heís only 50% older! Nobby, youíre catching up with the rest of us!

GI Roberts FMTH: Nobby, youíre the guy thatís gotta drive all this [deleted phrase] in the future.

GI Hunt: On behalf of the CO of the Gibraltar Patrol Boat Squadron who is sorry he wasnít able to attend tonight, he did want to be here to welcome the West Country GIs to Gibraltar and our establishment. An event which is the first of its kind, we all hope itís the start of many to come. With lots of e-mails between myself & GI Prout and GI Maddocks helping out as well, this has taken 2 years from GI Cockings initial concept to actual fruition. Iím extremely happy that itís came about in my tenure in this Draft as Gib SXO.

TASI Loynes: As a guest Iíd like to say thank you very much and ďComrades In ArmsĒ.

TASI Burton: Itís important for both of our Associations that we are here tonight and letís ensure itís not the last time. The dits are brilliant, what is so nice is that we have a common understanding of things and thatís good. Itís good that we can continue to move forward with events such as this.

GI Prout: Passed out some parish notices and then discussed the programme for the remaining days ahead on the Rock. The money granted from the GIs Association will be spent on a Sunday Roast for GIs, TASIs have matched this and will attend the meal also.

GI Baker: If GIs Meetings were run by Carlsberg, Leroy is the CEO of Carlsberg. Thank You.

The Meeting closed at 21:24
