MINUTES OF THE 293rd MEETING 2014

Members present – GIs Baker, Jewell, Lewis, Richardson, Lowther, Lynch, Horswill, Beer, Walker, Pointon, Roberts, Pilkington, Potts, Luker & Dobson.

Apologies – GIs McKie, Clarke, Thurston, Cook, Boyle, Curnow.

The 293rd Meeting was held at the St Levan Inn on Thursday 11 December 2014. 

The President opened the Meeting at 20:00 with the Loyal Toast to Gunners, Missilemen and AWW’s everywhere.

The 292nd Minutes were proposed by GI Walker and Seconded by GI Jewell.

Treasurer’s Report: 

Apologies Rx’d – the finances will be passed on to all at the next meeting. Tonights costings are £15 for this evenings tot of Rum. Food for the Games Night has been very kindly provided at no cost to the Association and the Pool table will also be free for us tonight, thank you Paul & Ann Bodenham for your generosity.

Secretary’s Report: 

Apologies sent from our Secretary, he’s currently enjoying his Wedding Anniversary out in St Lucia.

Social Secretary’s Report:

Ladies Night 2015 will be at Stonehouse Barracks, currently pencilled in for the first weekend in July. GI Lynch has stepped up to the mark and will take over the organisational responsibilities for this event.

The final numbers for the meeting in Gibraltar currently stands as 6 personnel who will attend it. It should be noted the April Meeting for the West Country GIs Association will be held in Gibraltar.

Vice Presidents Report:

A date in November 2015 will be secured for us to hold our Branch Dinner. This will give ample time for the planning and advertising process, watch this space…

GI Walker – I’ve literally just found out from GI Deakins in Pompey that CPO OPS (M) Dave Grassie has sadly crossed the bar.

GI Lewis – The football shirts have gone off for their final embroidery as part of my project, I’ll let the Treasurer know when the money side of it is finalised.

GI Dobson – Apologies for January and February.

GI Jewell – Merry Christmas everyone, have a good one and I’ll be away from meetings until the middle of March.

Raffle Winners: GI’s Walker, Roberts, Beer, Lynch, Richardson, Pilkington, TASIs Burton, Coleman, Allen, Dudman and Mr Bodenham of course. Tonights raffle raised £120 for the Presidents Charity – Thank You to everyone for your contributions.   

The Meeting closed at 20:36

The 294th meeting will be held on Thursday 08th January 2015 at the St.Levan Inn.

Still only £10 per annum plus a £5 joining fee.  Full Members get a £5 discount for the Ladies Night Dinner and the Branch Dinner so why not pay up now and feel better for paying less at these prestigious Serials.
