Prayers were offered by him to GI Timms who suffered
a family bereavement to night prior.

Seconded by GI Dobson.
GI Luker pointed out that the President was pretty clever
offering Apologies for his absence and yet was still
reported as opening the November Meeting. The Prez was in
fact attending a Charity Dinner in aid of his chosen
Charity; the Torpoint Athletic U-13’s Football Team.
The President advised that he would comment in his report
regarding the report already made about his imminent

This may well be my last full Meeting as Vice President.
The time has arrived where this position and those of
Treasurer and Secretary require filling. If we want this
Association to go from strength to strength, and the
Committee to function correctly, we need to ensure that we
have people in the relevant seats. So I ask that people step
forward for the good of the Association and fill these very

Please visit and add your comments. There is still not
enough action occurring even though the President of the
Portsmouth Association has responded himself through it. Big
Mac remains convinced that nobody wants to speak to him as
he always seems to speaking to himself. So if for nothing
else, visit the site and say hello to Big Mac.
If you have something that you would like included on the
site, email it to our Webmaster (Ray Lester). Ray has done
a brilliant job of amending the website as soon as I request
- don’t forget to keep tabs on the Portsmouth Website.

The Patron also sent his regards and Wishes to All for an
enjoyable evening tonight and a Merry Christmas. He was
invited to attend but was sadly unable to.
GI Ralph Bladen
On Thursday 10th January 2001, at the 140th
Meeting, GI Jack Honey stitched me up to take over from him
just one Meeting after he was elected President. That now
means that 12 years have now passed as have 144 months at
the helm and 142 Meetings. This means that I have actually
served half of the entire life of the Association at its
helm and so at the AGM I will definitely be standing down.
I have thought long and hard about this decision and the 189th
Meeting is as good as any other to hand the reins over to
new blood and new ideas. I have thoroughly enjoyed every
minute and it has been a great privilege to undertake but it
is time to go. I shall obviously continue at 150% between
now and then but others should start getting involved to
ensure that the Association continues well into the future.
I have done my bit – now it’s time for you to do yours.

Thank You to everyone for your contributions.
It was mentioned in October that I will be going out to
India in January to assist schoolchildren with their Maths
and English. What I would like from the Association is a
monetary donation to purchase things like iPads, MP3
players, talking books etc. I also want to take clothing as
this is another very much needed commodity, especially for
girls, but boys also.
(Sec: Our President and Treasurer quickly looked at the
current finances, especially the outstanding President’s
Charities of which there was a balance of £366.36 from 2011,
and a swift decision was made to donate the outstanding
monies from the 2011 Fund to Mike to assist with his
campaign to help the children in India).
Big Mac sends his best wishes to everyone for Xmas and the
GI McKie will begin mentoring at Saltash College from
January so I’m sure that everyone here around the table
would like to wish David all the best wishes with his new
