Secretary’s Report:  GI Lewis and I will be stepping down from our positions of President and Secretary within the Association Committee. To this end GI Morgan will step up to President and in the January elections we will need to elect a Vice President, Treasurer and a Secretary. This can be done by using the Proposals Book at the December meeting or forward me an email with your nominee.

Social Secretary’s Report: Mike passed on his apologies for the late cancellation of the Gents Night.

Since the last meeting Friday 24th January has been booked for the rescheduled Gents Night. Mike finished by mentioning that the Ladies Night next year will be his final swan song and he will step down as Social Secretary.

Could you please let me know if you have handed your fine to a Committee Member?

Lt Dobson 2 bottles – His wife over indulging on after dinner mints and his guest Simon Kingdom for wearing his hat throughout the meal.

WO Honeychurch – His guest Jeff Maunder eased springs early.

Simon Clarke – For wearing ladies make up.

All port fines are to be paid for as soon as possible and handed to any member of the Committee or presented at any of the monthly Meetings.

Vice President: Gents, if we wish this Association to continue to run with an elected committee then we need people to start coming forward and taking responsibility, if only for 12 months. Otherwise we are just going to end up pitching up on meeting night, sitting at the bar, having a few beers and then going home. We seriously don’t want that to happen so let’s step up gents.

Presidents Report:

Welcome to:  GI’s Lynch, Lowther, Cook C, Phipps, Clark and Horswill all from HMS Raleigh MTU and Parade Ground. Nice to see new faces at the meetings and we hope to see you at meetings and functions in the future. Welcome aboard.

Apologies Rx’d from: GI’s Lewis (charity fundraiser/switching on the Christmas Lights in Plymouth apparently) and Beer (loafing in Florida, no doubt took his golf clubs with him)

Sick Note:  None to report.

Happy Birthdays: GI’s Windust 26th October, GI Minall 28th October, GI Norman 15th November and

GI Cook 19th November

 HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU ALL

Presidents Charity: It is still the intention to support Torpoint Athletic under 13’s team with waterproof / windproof type tops for the side line for inclement weather but I am still in negotiations with the Torpoint Athletic Youth Management at this time.

Association Website:  Our website is up and running www.westcountrygunners.com .  There is still not enough action occurring on it though.  Please visit and add your comments.  If you have something that you would like included on the site, email it to our Webmaster (Ray Lester).

We also have our attached forum http://www.westcountrygunners.com/forum/phpBB3/index.php

Don’t forget that these Forums are there for you to express yourselves, dit on, etc.

If you have something that you would like including on the site, i.e. phots from the Dinner / Dits / etc, email it to our Webmaster (Ray Lester).

Ray has done a brilliant job of amending the website as soon as I request anything, Thanks Ray.

Guest Book – Please visit and add your comments. There is still not enough action occurring even though the President of the Portsmouth Association has responded himself through it. Big Mac remains convinced that nobody wants to speak to him as he always seems to speaking to himself.  So if for nothing else, visit the site and say hello to Big Mac.

Portsmouth Website: www.rngia.com - don’t forget to keep tabs on the Portsmouth Website.

GI Ralph Bladen

Tonight’s raffle raised £200 for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal

Thank You to everyone for your contribution.

AOB:

GI Jewell: Is departing these shores for Gibraltar until January 2014.

GI Baker T: Thanks to those who have turned up tonight, look forward to seeing you at future meetings.                Would like to say well done to the senior members of the association for their participation in this year’s “Movember” even if it did originate as nasal hair.

GI Walker: After being in contact with the children in India to finally find out what will be required when we leave in January, we are told that they have nothing. So I going to make up a wish list before the December meeting, present that to the committee and hopefully secure some funds to purchase items on the wish list.

GI Morgan: Royal Marine administration was put into light at the Remembrance Day service at the new school in the dockyard. Two minutes silence was conducted at 1055 and while the Padre was addressing the Marines present the warship which was tied up alongside conducted their two minutes silence at the correct time of 1100. Not much embarrassment there I believe.

The Meeting closed at 20:35
