Secretary’s Report:  Apologies to the Social Secretary and the Members for my blatant error of promulgating the Members Evening as Saturday 2nd November, when clearly it was originally produced in the 271st Minutes as Friday 1st November.

Social Secretary’s Report: Firstly Ladies Night: We the Association currently haven’t paid for the Ladies Night as there is an ongoing investigation with regards to the service we received on that evening.

Secondly Members Night: I have spoken to Mrs Mandy Stone and we have tried to vamp up the menu this year.  We are trying to keep the costing down to £40 per member and £45 per guest.

Sir Richard Ibbotson has confirmed his attendance as our Guest of Honour.

I have also drafted a letter to be sent to 2SL voicing our displeasure at companies such as ESS within HMS Drake and HMS Raleigh charging astronomical prices to Associations like ourselves for holding Mess Dinners and Ladies Nights within those Establishments.

Could you please let me know if you have handed your fine to a Committee Member?

Lt Dobson 2 bottles – His wife over indulging on after dinner mints and his guest Simon Kingdom for wearing his hat throughout the meal.

GI’s Association 2 bottles – Mrs Bladen tabbing on and keeping the President waiting and stitching up the ‘Crab Fat impersonator.’

WO Honeychurch – His guest Jeff Maunder eased springs early.

Simon Clarke – For wearing ladies make up.

GI Lewis x 2 – For being grumpy and for no vegetables with the meal.

Tony Booth – for relaxing jackets far, far too early.

All port fines are to be paid for as soon as possible and handed to any member of the Committee or presented at any of the monthly Meetings.

Vice President: You will be seeing me at a lot more Meetings now as I have begun coaching a different age group who consequently have training on different evenings.

Congratulations to Taxi Carr, Ste Derri, Ken Dodd, Lenny Harding, Mark Jackson and Alan Jones for being selected on the CPO(AWW) Signal.

Presidents Report:

Welcome to:  GI’s Potts, Bennett, Dobson K, Johnson (HMNZN) and the Vice President.

Apologies Rx’d from: GI’s Jewell, Westall, MacIntosh, MacCallum and Nuttycombe.

Sick Note:  None to report.

Happy Birthdays: GI’s Dobson K 24th July, Bradbury D 30th, Tonge 10th  August, Barsley 24th , 30th , De La Haye 11th Sept, Luther 13th and Manning 14th.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU ALL

Presidents Charity:

The Torpoint Athletic under 13’s football strip has been purchased and worn attracting positive comments from the players, parents and opposition alike.  Unfortunately, the ‘Sponsors shirt’ was left at home by the Prez due to an error in his admin.  The kit is different to the other Torpoint Teams and the quality suggests lasting 2-3 seasons.  I am hoping to discuss with the Coach regarding purchasing some weatherproof kagools as there is nothing worse than seeing kids sat on the side line wet and cold.  Watch this space.

Association Website:  Our website is up and running www.westcountrygunners.com .  There is still not enough action occurring on it though.  Please visit and add your comments.  If you have something that you would like included on the site, email it to our Webmaster (Ray Lester).

We also have our attached forum http://www.westcountrygunners.com/forum/phpBB3/index.php

Don’t forget that these Forums are there for you to express yourselves, dit on, etc.

If you have something that you would like including on the site, i.e. phots from the Dinner / Dits / etc, email it to our Webmaster (Ray Lester).

Ray has done a brilliant job of amending the website as soon as I request anything, Thanks Ray.

Guest Book – Please visit and add your comments. There is still not enough action occurring even though the President of the Portsmouth Association has responded himself through it. Big Mac remains convinced that nobody wants to speak to him as he always seems to speaking to himself.  So if for nothing else, visit the site and say hello to Big Mac.

Portsmouth Website: www.rngia.com - don’t forget to keep tabs on the Portsmouth Website.

Emails Rx’d from around the Globe: The Patron is looking forward to getting on it with the Boys.  When I advised that Pussers have sponsored us again, he decided that he would get a taxi as he has a soft spot for it.
