As of the meeting I had not received all bills for the Ladies Night and so could not announce the Social Secretary’s gain or loss.  Since the meeting I have now received all bills and will announce at the May meeting the Social Secretary’s achievements!!

Next social event in the calendar year is our BBQ which we hope will be held again within the NMT compound at HMS Raleigh & I will be hoping that like last year I can leave that to the guys who work within the NMT.

GI Roberts: Questioned what the President was doing with his outstanding charity funds?  Explained to Robbie that the President is on the case & in his defence the President has asked the members to come up with some worthy charities.

GI Bennett: As you may or may not be aware I have some photos from the Gents Night last year. For the last six months I have been trying to send out these photos as an attachment, but with no success. I have also tried to download them on to a disc and again met with no success. It has to be something wrong with my computer and I promise to get the problem sorted so as to get these photos out to you all.

GI Potts: Many many thanks to Terry for such a wonderful evening.

GI Curnow: From my guests and myself a big thanks Terry for a fantastic evening.

GI Paton: That was my first Ladies Night, myself and the missus had a wonderful night, many thanks Terry.

Knee jerk reaction within HMS Drake regarding the incident onboard Astute, whenever we arrange a range day we are to contact the sickbay and question whether the personnel are of sound mind and fit to shoot.

GI Dixon RNZN: Would like to pass on my thanks for being accepted this evening, I am currently in the UK for Ope

ration Longlook over the next 3 months. Chris Cocksedge has gone in the opposite direction and I’m sure he is having a wonderful time. I joined the New Zealand navy in 1982, carried out my gunnery course in 2000 and have since been very proud to be part of the gunnery branch in our navy.

GI Evers: From the mess in Drake there is no bad feedback whatsoever, they were glad to host us and enjoyed themselves as much as we did. All in all last year has been swept under the carpet and we are well back to projecting ourselves as a proud association.

GI Cook: On the BBQ event dates, a quick look reveals dates of Friday 15th July, Friday 22nd July or Friday 29th July. Can I ask all members to look at these dates and let me know what their preferences would be?
